KARACHI: District bodies asked to ensure proper relief
KARACHI, Aug 6: Sindh Chief Minister Ali Mohammad Mahar said on Wednesday the recent rains had caused huge losses in the province and it was the responsibility of the district committees, formed to supervise relief activities, to ensure provision of relief goods to rain and flood victims and resolution of their problems.
Speaking at a meeting of provincial ministers and advisers at the Chief Minister House here, Ali Mahar said besides formation of a provincial committee, district committees were also formed in the provincial cabinet meeting so that they could monitor relief work and ensure shifting of flood victims to safer places.
The meeting was attended among others by Irfanullah Marwat, Chaudhry Iftikhar Hussain, Haji Mohammad Usman Malkani, Ghulam Rasool Unnar, Abdul Majeed Jamali, Faisal Gabol, Jadim Mangrio and Salahuddin Haider.—PPI
