Petroleum prices increased

KARACHI, June 15: The Oil Companies Advisory Committee Sunday revised upwards the prices of petrol (MS 87 RON) by 2.36 per cent, or 71 paisa per litre, to Rs30.83 from the current level of Rs30.12 per litre.

According to the announcement of the OCAC, the HOBC prices have been increased by 2.53 per cent or 85 paisa, from the existing level of Rs33.65 to Rs34.50 per litre. Similarly, the prices of kerosene oil have been fixed at Rs18.83 per litre, up from Rs18.79 per litre at which level these were pegged until Sunday.

The price of light diesel oil has been allowed to remain unchanged at Rs16.26 per litre.

The new prices are to remain in force during the fortnight from June 16 to June 30.

The OCAC in its statement said that the product prices in the Arab Gulf region increased during the fortnight just-ended.

The average prices of Naphtha increased by $16.30 per ton, or 7.93 per cent, while the average price of kerosene increased by $0.41 per barrel, or 1.58 per cent. The average exchange rate of the rupee vis-a-vis the US dollar strengthened marginally by Rs0.03 during the 15 days.—APP
