Women sell guns

KABUL: Women sell guns to merchants at a local street market on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the disarmament process in the Afghan city of Gosfandi, where clashes have killed eight people in the past week, has been delayed by ‘complexities’, a United Nations official said.

The process, which should have begun on Monday, has not yet started, UN political officer Mervyn Patterson told AFP by phone from Gosfandi. The official is in Gosfandi to oversee the disarmament process.

“The situation is complex and we are looking to find a mutually acceptable solution,” he said.—Reuters/AFP
