PSAGOT (West Bank), Aug 7: The Israeli army on Wednesday started dismantling a wildcat settlement set up at dawn close to the Jewish settlement of Psagot near the West Bank town of Ramallah.
Soldiers met no opposition as they removed, one-by-one, the five empty caravans into which three settler families had been planning to move.
The secretary of Psagot, Yiheh Hamdi, said: “We have decided to settle on a hilltop near Psagot in response to the killing last month of three Psagot residents,” Yideh Hamdi.
“This is a Zionist response to the murders,” he explained, adding that the action was taken despite there being no permission to do so.—AFP
