I AM a resident of the Indian part of Kashmir. I have been following the online edition of Dawn for the last more than a decade now. I start my day after going through this esteemed paper but my heart bleeds when I see the killings and bombings taking place in Karachi, Balochistan, Peshawar, Waziristan, etc.

Kashmir has also witnessed a lot of bloodshed for the last few decades but Kashmiris do not kill their own brothers and sisters.

We hope that a strong democratic government comes into power after the upcoming general elections in Pakistan which could address the internal issues. Not only the people of Pakistan need a strong, democratic and peaceful Pakistan but the people of Kashmir also want a peaceful Pakistan.

I would call upon the people of Pakistan to shun their internal differences and work together as a nation so that the dreams of Alama Iqbal and the Quaid-i-Azam are fulfilled.
