A pathetic sight

Published March 26, 2013

IN your newspaper of March 19 a photograph on page 5 showed students of a government school in Lower Dir taking their annual examinations by sitting on an open ground with no tables and chairs.

This is pathetic. It shows how we treat our children. It’s a shame that we spend only two per cent of our budget on education.

If we want to progress, we must invest in our children. Give them the best education and facilities. They are our hope, they are the future builders of our country.

It is a crime that we spend so little on education. They need books, tables and chairs, good teachers and schools with roofs.
