GUJRANWALA, Jan 5: Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Asif on Saturday extended physical remand of seven young doctors, including YDA President Dr Kashif Bilal, for another two days.

The police had sought a five-day extension while arguing in court that arms and clubs could not be recovered from the arrested doctors and that investigation was still in progress.

The counsel for the doctors opposed it and pleaded that the accused were empty-handed when the police arrested them.

The Civil Lines police had arrested YDA President Dr Kashif Bilal, Dr Ehtesham, Dr Farasat, Dr Waqas, Dr Abdullah Zia, Dr Tahir and Dr Kashif Bashir following registration of a case against them on the report of DHQ Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Anwar Aman.

The doctors have been detained at the CIA police headquarters. — Correspondent
