KARACHI: All government and private schools in Sindh will observe a holiday on account of Chehlum of Imam Hussain on Thursday. This was confirmed by a deputy director for schools who said that the Chehlum holiday was part of the regular annual holiday schedule.

The Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) also announced that the university and its associated institutions would remain closed on Thursday. Similarly, both campuses of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology in the city will be closed while the papers scheduled for Jan 3 have been postponed.—Staff Reporter
