This is with reference to the cover story Don’t be a Jack-of-all by Rizwana Naqvi (YW, December 8, 2012). The writer has discussed the importance of doing physical activities along with studies.

It is important to prioritise things in life and keep a balance between studies and extracurricular activities.Prioritising tasks prevents us from getting fed up with studies and thus we will not be overwhelmed by any activity in our schedule.

A chocolate world

This is with reference to the article A chocolate world by Ali Hassan Zaidi (YW, December 8, 2012). It was quite an enlightening article and gave me a new perspective about life.

After reading this article, I realised that not every good thing is good enough to be used for every purpose. Everything has its advantages and disadvantages, and everything needs to be put to its correct use. We should not have unrealistic expectations even from good things or good individuals. I am thankful to the Young World team for publishing such a thought-provoking article.

Ready to face the exams?

This is with reference to the article Ready to face the exams? by Naveed Fayyaz (YW, December 1, 2012).

No doubt, it is important for a student to be proactive and well-prepared to face all challenges that may come in the way of his success. One very important thing that I learnt from this piece was ‘time management’ — a very important skill to do well not only in exams but all tasks.

Students who manage their time well become better prepared for exams and perform well in the examination hall as well as in the classroom.

I really liked this piece as it discussed important tips to perform better in exams. The writer not only focussed on exam preparation but also advised us about taking good care of our health as during exams, due to anxiety, students neglect their health, which eventually leads to poor performance in exams.

Troubled times

This is with reference to the story Troubled times by Sara Pirzada (YW, December 1, 2012). The story made me realise how concerned our parents remain for us! They scold us because they truly care for our wellbeing.

These days the law and order situation is unpredictable in almost every city of Pakistan. Our parents want us to be safe and secured. It’s our duty to obey them, because whatever they say is for our own good. They love us so they are concerned!

This is with reference the story Troubled times by Sara Pirzada. I admire the writer’s efforts for bringing to light such an important issue. It’s true that our parents remain concerned about us and therefore, they don’t allow us to remain outside after evening.

The story not only made me realise the love and care of our parents for us but also made me aware of our country’s situation.

This story is not only for children but in fact for all citizens of Pakistan, belonging to any age group, cast or creed. Everyone who goes out of his house must remain alert and try to come back home early as is advised by the writer.
