ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's recent batting failures at the World Twenty20 tournament have forced the country's cricket board to search for a full-time batting coach.

In an advertisement posted on its website, the Pakistan Cricket Board has set Nov. 4 as the deadline for interested candidates to send their resumes to its game development department in Lahore.

Pakistan batsmen came up short against Sri Lanka in the semifinals of the World Twenty20 while chasing 140 runs for victory. Pakistan's batting lineup also crumbled against archrival India in the Super Eights and was bowled out for 128.

Australia's Dav Whatmore is the head coach of Pakistan.

Former test fast bowler Mohammad Akram was appointed as bowling coach when Pakistan competed against Australia in the limited-overs and Twenty20 series in the United Arab Emirates before last month's World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka.
