LAHORE: Eight countries including host Pakistan will feature in the second Asia Cup Kabaddi Tournament which will be held at the Punjab Stadium here from October 27 to 31.

The countries which have confirmed their participation in the event are India, Indonesia, Nepal, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Iran and Afghanistan.

Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) secretary Rana Sarwar at a news conference said that Pakistan was also providing all the participating teams with free travel tickets, adding he was sure all setting aside their security concerns would come to Pakistan.

Sarwar said the winning team would be honoured with a cash prize of Rs1.5 million while the runners-up and third position-holders will receive cash prizes amounting to Rs1 million and Rs0.5 million respectively.

He said soon a national training camp would be set up here to prepare a strong team for the Asia Cup.
