ISLAMABAD: At least twenty people died Sunday in incidents related to rain, including electrocution, collapses of roofs and traffic mishaps across the country.

Rains wreaked havoc in most parts of Sindh by interrupting power supply, choking the sewage systems, submerging the residential areas under rain water, and damaging life and property.

Several people were injured as the roofs of several houses collapsed in Punjab. Other parts of the province, including Faisalabad, Jhang, Multan, Lodhran, and Boraywala, were still receiving rain.

Two persons were killed, as roof of a house at Nishatabad collapsed. In Rahimyar Khan, a mother and her five children were injured when the roof of a house collapsed in Nawankot, while at Lodhran two children were wounded.

Multan also received heavy showers as water accumulated in several areas of the city.

Trains were delayed for hours due to the rains, while the night coach service was also cancelled, leaving passengers stranded at the platforms.

The power supply system was disrupted at Kandhkot and surrounding areas, as 12 grid stations tripped due to torrential rains.

Ghotki, Obaro, Dharki, Mirpur Mathelo, Khanpur and Mehar were also lashed by heavy rains with lightening for more than five hours submerging roads and streets under knee deep water.
