The estimated rehabilitation cost of National Highway Authority's road network damaged by Nato containers is $143.66 million.

 

ISLAMABAD: The USAID has agreed to help repairing the damaged road network of National Highway damaged by Nato containers, National Assembly told Thursday.

In a written reply Minister for Communication Dr Arbab Alamgir said the road from Peshawar to Torkhum (N5) and Kalat Quetta and Chaman (N 25) would be rehabilitated.

Negotiations with USAID are in progress in this regard. The estimated rehabilitation cost of National Highway Authority's road network damaged by Nato containers is $143.66 million, he said.

In a written reply to another question, the minister said 65 per cent work on 193 km long Gwadar-Turbat-Hoshab road has been completed, while 73 per cent work on 148 km long Khuzdar-Wangu Hills- Ratodero, 23 per cent work on 58 km long Faisalabad-Gojra and 5 per cent work on 57 km Khanewal-Multan have already been completed.
