KARACHI: India defeated Pakistan by one wicket to qualify for the semi-final of the ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup in Townsville on Monday.
Pakistan batted first and scored 136 in 45.1 overs before being dismissed with Babar Azam scoring 50 and Sandeep taking 3-24 and Ravikant 3-43. It would have been an easy chase but India started off badly and were 8 for 3. Aparajith (51) and Vijay Zol (36) took India to 120-5 but they collapsed after that as Pakistan took a flurry of wickets.
India struggled to get runs towards the end with Harmeet Singh and Sharma batting. Harmeet scored the winning runs as India made 137-9 in 48 over to seal the victory.
In the other quarter final, New Zealand won by three wickets against West Indies and will be facing India in the semi-final on Thursday. The other semi-final will be between South Africa and hosts Australia.

Dear fellow Indians on this thread, why celebrate a victory over Pakistan anymore than a victory against Iran Or Turkey or China or any other country? A WIN IS A WIN IRRESPECTIVE OF THE RIVAL AND THE SPORT.

One India - Pakistan match and the mud sledging starts. As an indian I love it when we beat Pakistan, but its a sport rivalry. I am sure it was a very tight match and anybody could have won. Good job India and Pakistan and heartiest congratulations to india. Better luck next time Pakistan

For your information, in out of 7 matches in under 19 world cup, pakistan came victorious on 5 occassions. This is only the 2nd defeat of Pakistan with India in 7 matches. Never mind you will loose to New Zealand Insha Allah.

A pathetic performing by Pakistan U19 team. They are much better than indian U19 team. Pakistan could easily win this match even with low score but they didnt care.

I would be surprised to see hardly any Indians posting here with Congratulations to Pak, If they would have lost the match. However, It's sad to see Pak loose this match since Pakistan was top of the table in their group and had played very well til this match. Getting out for 136 against India was due to their weakness, which they also have in their existing squad --> The batting. I would like some one from PCB to ask following question:
"How hard Is it to find a good batting coach?" Is Pak Managment still not aware of the fact that we finally need one???

in U19 we had 1-5 win-loss ratio so its now improved to 2-5...There is not dearth of talent in Pakistan but this Indian team doesn't look as good as past teams...Hard luck pakistan. I thought they have better attach than us..:)

Pakistan India matches must come with a warning especially for heart patients. The tension was not electric, it was Nuclear.A matter, not of life and death but more than that.Great for the game, Shame people of Pakistan cannot see such epic battles among their midst. Having lost 2 wickets for 0, team Pakistan you made me very proud. Congratulations to India and to Cricket.

I watched most of the Indian innings and must say I was very impressed with zia and adil from Pakistan and the cool heads of Aparajit and zol. They might just make it to the higher grade if they keep up the hard work
