RAWALPINDI, June 20: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) imposed ban on use of water in service stations and lawns in fear of a looming water crisis.

Those violating the ban would be fined Rs10,000 from Thursday (today).

Cantonment Executive Officer Rana Manzoor Ahmed Khan said the civic body would face problems in managing the crisis as Khanpur Dam could provide water till July 1 if there were no rains. He said tubewells would not be enough to meet the requirement.

The civic agency has formed four teams to check the violation of the ban. —A Reporter
