THE government presented Aghaz-i-Huqooq-i-Balochistan to eradicate the sense of frustration among the people of Balochistan. It was to allow people to work hard for the development of the province in terms of education, health and other sectors.
Therefore, 5,000 additional jobs were announced. A test was conducted in which an overwhelming number of candidates appeared. Ultimately, many of them were appointed teachers as part of the package.
Through these jobs, the government created more employment, but unfortunately there are some problems which are discouraging for students and the system of education in Balochistan.
The problem is that these teachers do not perform their duties and are playing with the future of students. Most of them are preparing for the competitive examinations. Among them many are university students.
Another problem is that there are some teachers who want to fulfil their duties but could not do so because they get salaries after three months which is putting financial burden on them. Ultimately, they have lost interest in their jobs.
Another discouraging factor is that jobs are not permanent, which is being demanded by the teachers.
Effective and prompt measures should be taken in this regard to ensure that the package is serving the purpose for which it has been initiated.
