KARACHI, Oct 6: The Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has predicted that the first of Shawal may fall on Oct 13.

According to Suparco, chances of Shawal moon sighting in eastern parts of the country are very low on Oct 12 but the same cannot be ruled out in western parts, particularly the coastal areas (subject to favourable weather conditions).

“Though elevation will be slightly low, the age of the moon will be approximately 32 hours with two per cent fraction luminosity at the time of sunset on Oct 12. The moon will remain above the horizon for more than 25 minutes in western parts,” Suparco said.—PPI
