KARACHI, April 30: City Nazim Mustafa Kamal and Lord Mayor of Port Louis Reza Issack inked a sister-city relationship agreement on Monday between the two cities.

A ceremony was held in this regard at the office of the city nazim, which was attended by the deputy high commissioner of Mauritius, members of the visiting delegation and officials of the city government.

The sister-city agreement aimed at strengthening bilateral coordination and working on the basis of the traditional Mauritius--Pakistan friendship, the two sister cities shall endeavour to further their social progress, urban development and the well-being of their citizens.

“With this sister-city agreement today, a positive message will be delivered across the world about Karachi and I hope closer relations will be developed between the citizens of the two cities”, the city nazim said.

Mr Issack said that Karachi and Port Louis had similarities as both of them were port cities with almost identical culture.
