KARACHI: A judicial magistrate on Wednesday remanded in police custody a suspect detained for allegedly raping a woman with disabilities.

The police arrested a suspect over his alleged involvement in the gang rape of a 20-year-old woman in Orangi Town.

On Wednesday, the investigating officer produced the sole detained suspect before the judicial magistrate (West) to seek his physical remand in police custody for interrogation and investigation.

The IO mentioned that the detained suspect along with his one alleged accomplice sexually assaulted the young victim, who has some mental disabilities, in the Tauheed Colony locality on Sept 15.

He further mentioned that the DNA test of the victim had already been conducted that showed that she had been subjected to gang-rape by the detained suspect in the factory where he worked.
