LAHORE: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has suspended 52 members including a sitting and a former provincial minister of the Punjab Assembly for not submitting details of their assets.

Among them are 16 women members elected on reserved seats. They are Saadia Suhail Rana, Abida Bibi, Bisma Chaudhry, Sajida Begum, Aneeza Fatima, Rabia Ahmed Butt, Haseena Begum, Shamim Aftab and Tahira Noor.

The suspended members include sitting food minister Samiullah Chaudhry and former food minister Bilal Yasin. Other suspended MPAs, both from treasury and opposition, are: Mian Marghoob, Suhail Shaukat Butt, Ramazan Siddiq, Muhammad Naeem, Hamid Yar Hiraj, Malik Nadeem Abbas and Nazeer Chohan.

The others are Faisal Niazi, Nawabzada Waseem Badozi, Muhammad Salman, Zawar Hussain Warraich, Nazir Ahmed Khan, Zahid Akram, Zaheer Iqbal, Kazim Peerzada, Malik Khalid Babar, Sahibzada Gazain Abbasi, Ghazanfar Ali Khan, Aamir Nawaz Khan, Rais Nabeel Ahmed, Chaudhry Shafiq, Ghulam Qassim Hinjra, Azhar Abbad, Abdul Haye Dasti, Sabtain Raza, Khurram Suhail Leghari, Aown Hameed, Alamdar Abbas Qureshi, Muhammad Tahir, Khwaja Daud Sulamani and Mohsin Atta Khosa.
