KHAIRPUR: The employees of Shah Abdul Latif University (Salu) Khairpur observed a pen-down strike and kept their offices locked on Monday in protest against deduction from their salaries and non-provision of 15 per cent (pc) ad hoc allowance as announced in budget 2019 and leave encashment amounts.

Later, they staged a protest demonstration before the administration block of the university and chanted slogans against the administration.

Salu Employees’ Welfare Association leader Lala Raza Durrani and others said that the employees had been paid half salaries for June. They said the university administration had not even increased the ad hoc allowance of 15pc as per the Sindh government budget 2019.
