LAHORE: A man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in an under-construction house in Defence area here on Monday.

The deceased Zulfiqar Ali (39) was a resident of Hujra Shah Muqeem.

Police inquiries said he was working as a labourer at the house in Phase IV.

His fellow workers found his body and alerted the police who later handed it over to the family after legal formalities.

The police official said it seemed he ended his life following some domestic issues.

In another incident, a charred body of an unidentified man was found from the fields in Shahdara area.

Some locals witnessed the body and alerted the police who later said it was yet to be ascertained whether he was murdered or he had caught fire accidentally which later led to his death.

A police official said they were trying to establish identity of the deceased by reaching to his family but the efforts brought no fruit so far. He said the police also recovered a bottle and a matchstick from the spot which further indicated that it might be a suicide case.
