MULTAN: Police on Wednesday arrested the Qadirpuraan station house officer and an assistant sub-inspector for allegedly torturing a man to death.

Family of Muhammad Imran alleged that the police arrested the deceased in connection with a theft case and subjected him to severe torture which led to his death.

The police claimed that Imran was suffering from some respiratory disease which caused his death.

The body was shifted to Nishtar Hospital for postmortem where the family protested outside the hospital gate.

On the direction of City Police Officer Imran Mehmood, police arrested SHO Falak Sher and ASI Naveed Ifran and started investigation after lodging a first information report.
