KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary party leader in the Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh on Tuesday announced a compensation of Rs60,000 for each of the nine children who died in an incident of wall collapse in the Salehpat area of Sukkur district recently.

Mr Sheikh made the announcement after his consultation with the director of Bait-ul-Mal after visiting the bereaved families in Sarwar Shambhani village, where the incident had taken place.

Speaking to the media, he noted that several of the children had to be taken to a hospital far away in Sukkur as no health facility existed between Salehpat and Sukkur to deal with such emergencies.

Life of some of the children could have been saved had there been a proper health facility within or close to Salehpat.
