LAHORE: Taking action against the public sector defaulters, the Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) on Thursday disconnected power supply to various government departments, including Punjab Assembly (PA) and Kot Lakhpat Jail, for not paying bills of about Rs80m since long.

Besides the jail, the Lesco teams disconnected power supply to Punjab Assembly, Punjab Cooperative Board, Regional Passport Office, Director General Health Services, IG office (Finance Department), Irrigation Office and Aziz Bhatti Zone (formerly town municipal administration).

“Since there are many government departments included in the list of defaulters, they must be ready for the same action in coming days. They must clear the dues and avoid action,” warned a press release issued by Lesco.
