ISLAMABAD: A man drowned in a nullah in rural area while a pedestrian was killed when a vehicle hit him on the Islamabad Expressway on Thursday.

Police said Tahir Mehmood, 19, was washing his vehicle on the bank of the Sohan nullah and all of a sudden slipped in the nullah.

People rushed to his rescue but could not retrieve him and he drowned, the police stated, adding that later his body was recovered and shifted to hospital for legal process.

In another incident, Mohammad Akmal, was crossing the expressway at Khanna Bridge when a car hit him, the police said, adding as a result he suffered multiple injuries and was shifted to hospital where he was pronounced dead, they added.

Separately, burglars and thieves stole cash, valuables and vehicle in four different incidents, police stated.
