SUKKUR: An accountability court in Sukkur on Friday convicted senior auditor in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) at Karachi, Dhani Bakhsh, along with his brother Rab Nawaz, after finding him guilty of amassing assets beyond his known sources of income.

The court sentenced Dhani Bakhsh to seven years’ imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs8.1 million on him. It sentenced Rab Nawaz to five years’ imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs6.4m on him. Rab Nawaz is a property dealer by profession.

The convicts were arrested as soon as the verdict against them was pronounced and sent to the central jail, Sukkur.
