KARACHI: A man was shot dead in Lyari’s Chakiwara area on late Sunday night, according to police.

They added that Asghar Ali, 45, was standing outside the home of his sister in Umer Lane area of Chakiwara when two unknown suspects shot at and wounded him. He was transported to Civil Hospital Karachi where he died.

Chakiwara police officer Rasheed said that the victim did not live in the area and had come to visit his sister when he was killed. The officer added that it was not known as to whether the murder was linked with robbery bid or some other factor was involved. He said at the time of the incident the electricity in the area had gone out.
