KARACHI: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation has extended job contracts of over 500 employees working with its various departments for one year while extensions in other such workers’ contracts are being considered.

A KMC statement issued on Sunday said the extensions was approved by KMC administrator Laeeq Ahmed after departmental heads verified that these employees were regularly attending their duties and performing assignments satisfactorily.

These employees had also appeared before a physical verification committee.

KMC human resources chief Javed Rahim said the contracts of other contractual employees would also be extended after verification, the statement added.
