It was a nice afternoon on a regular day but an incident would change that soon. At a jewellery shop in town, the boss was happy as he had earned hefty profit and his employees were also very happy as they would get a bonus.

Suddenly, the door burst open and two robbers entered the jewellery shop. They were wearing black masks to hide their faces.

“Hands behind your heads!” shouted one of them, pointing his gun while swiftly moving forward. Everyone was shocked but did as they were told. While the robber pointed his gun at the people, the other one checked them and took out their phones and wallets.

Everyone was terrified and stood still as one of the robbers started to strip the shelves and tables of jewellery and other valuable things.

“Lie down!” shouted the other partner in crime. Unwillingly, but out of fear, everyone followed his instructions at once. One of the employees thought to call the police, so he moved slowly towards the telephone, but he didn’t realise that the robbers were far more clever than he was. As he slowly slid his hand towards the phone, he felt a gun pressed to his head. The pressure caused him to gasp.

“Don’t even think about it or I’ll shoot,” said the first thief darkly. The man nodded his head and as the robber took out his knife and was about to cut the telephone wire, he heard the police sirens. Someone had called the police from outside.

“Hurry,” both yelled at eachother, “or we’ll be caught.”

They picked up the bags which were not fully zipped and ran out of the jewellery shop as fast as they could. The shop owner followed them and shouted for help as the policemen got out of the car and ran after the robbers.

A car from the other road came and the robbers jumped in. The policemen got into their car and chased the culprits who were driving very fast.

However, the police also gave a good chase and they radioed for more help and surrounded them from everywhere.

The robbers panicked and hit a car coming from the opposite side, shattering the windscreen and knocking the wind out of the robbers who received a few bruises and cuts but were otherwise okay. The police swiftly caught the culprits and their accomplice driver in the car and took all of them to the police station immediately.

It was discovered that these robbers were behind many other robberies in the city thus they got the punishment they deserved.

Everything turned out well in the end. The shop got the jewels back and the trio was finally behind the bars. They were sorry and realised that crime never pays and promised themselves that they would lead an honest life in the future.
