SIALKOT: Ambassador of France in Pakistan Ms. Martine Dorance says economic, political and diplomatic relations between the two countries are strengthening day by day.

The ambassador was addressing a meeting of business community held at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on Monday after visiting leading industrial units.

Acting SCCI President Muhammad Sarfraz Butt presided over the meeting.

“France is keen on boosting mutual trade ties with Pakistan,” she said.The French ambassador also assured all-out efforts to increase mutual trade volume in favour of Pakistan, saying the Pakistani business community should ensure maximum exports to France and other European Union countries through France by taking full advantage of GSP Plus status.

Ms. Martine Dorance invited the Sialkot exporters to divert their business activities to France. She said the exporters were much aware of the international quality standards “and they also have great potential to explore markets of France and EU countries.”

She asked the Sialkot exporters to participate in the international trade fairs and exhibition in France.

The ambassador highly hailed the initiative of establishing private international airline “Air Sial”.

On this occasion, the chamber showed a documentary “Amazing Sialkot...a city of opportunities”, covering export-oriented industries.

Acting SCCI President Muhammad Sarfraz Butt said the documentary truly exhibited the progressive approach and vision of the entrepreneurs.

Earlier, talking to local industrialists during her visit to industrial units in Sialkot, she said France would encourage regular exchange of mutual trade delegations.

She witnessed the craftsmanship of artisans and appreciated them.
