MULTAN: PML-N’s Rana Qasim Noon won NA-153 by-poll by defeating main rival, PTI’s Ghulam Abbas Khakhi, with a big margin

According to unofficial results from all 276 polling stations in Jalalpur Pirwala and adjoining areas, Mr Noon obtained 108,987 votes against Khakhi’s 33,565. PPP’s Malik Akram Kanhu stood third with 30,954 votes. Polling remained peaceful.

The seat had fell vacant when PML-N MNA Dewan Ashiq Bukhari, who won the seat in 2013 general election, was disqualified by court for having fake degree. Bukhari had defeated Noon who was then PPP nominee. The ruling party ignored the Dewan family this time and banked on Noon.
