Astronomical parlance

THIS is regarding the letter “Astronomical parlance” by M. Rahim (YW, November 7, 2015). I agree with the writer that there is a lot happening in the field of astronomy these days. Nasa scientists are gathering a bulk of information regarding Mars; however, we don’t see much local coverage of this kind of news.

Instead of providing astronomy related vocabulary in the Astronomy section, we could have something relevant to current findings, research and development in the field.

Annette and the baby tiger

THIS is regarding the story “Annette and the baby tiger” by Chanda Ayub (YW, October 24, 2015). I loved the story as it was not only nice but interesting to read too. It told about a little girl who finds an injured baby tiger and takes care of it. The description was interesting and it almost felt like I was watching the girl and the tiger cub playing and having fun.

I think more writers should write stories like this as children learn many lessons from them.

Young News

THIS is regarding the “Young news” section (YW, October 31, 2015). The compilation of interesting news on two pages is a great idea and I think YW should carry these pages every week as they are very good. I thank the YW team for bringing out such an amazing magazine for us. And I would also request them to continue publishing “Young news.”

“YOUNG NEWS” are the two best pages in the whole magazine; it covers all the news such as “Spotlight”, “The weekly weird”, “Blast from the past,” “Word of the week” and also the amazing “Facts.” The pages look wonderful as well as the news are always fabulous. I would like to request the YW team to continue printing “Young news” every week instead of “Secret files.”

Did you know?

THIS is with reference to the section “Did you know” (YW, October 24, 2015).

I was delighted to read facts about my favourite flower, rose.

The rose is the king of all flowers and no other flower can be compared to its magnificence. The facts were amazing; I didn’t know that there existed a rose as small as the one mentioned in the magazine and also the rainbow rose, which was a wonder in itself. All the facts were marvellous.
