Nawaz calls for increasing trade among Muslim countries

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said that Pakistan is ready to extend every possible support for the collective benefit of the Muslim World, Radio Pakistan reported.
During a meeting with the secretary general of Muslim World League Abdullah bin Abdul Mohsin Alturki at PM House, the premier said that Muslim world can actively cooperate in the field of trade and commerce.
Nawaz was of the view that the Muslim leadership shall come forward to explore such opportunities to increase trade among them and work together for collective benefit. He also appreciated the Muslim World League's (MWL) efforts for the welfare of Islamic nations.
Abdullah appreciated the prime minister's vision and ideas for cooperation among Muslim countries.

The Muslim World League is an international nongovernmental Islamic organisation based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. It was formed following a meeting of 22 prominent Muslim religious figures, in accordance with a resolution adopted during the meeting of the General Islamic Conference.
The then Crown Prince Faisal Bin Abdul-Aziz was seen as the founding figure of the organisation. Since its inception, the MWL, according to its claim, has been working on promoting the adherence to a clear teaching of Islam.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the leading contributor member of the Muslim countries funding the Muslim World League.

This is exactly why you guys are lagging behind. Have you heard of any country doing trade with another because of religion? Trade is done for mutual benefit. It has nothing to do with how you pray or which God you believe in.

What does religion have to do with trade? Pakistan's trade issues aren't based on religion - it's a result of an economy which is dependent on textiles - a low tech product produced by many 3rd World countries creating a Worldwide surplus.

Every organization formed by Islamic countries is nothing more than a talking shop and an occasion for an ostentatious display of their diamond watches and diamond rings bought with pilfered state money. When trade between Arab nations with same language, culture and religion is mere 8% of their total trade, the idea of increasing trade between Islamic countries is no more than a red herring. Islamic countries need a real leader to unite them to a common cause like Bhutto did during his time, the idea of Nawaz sharif being a leader is quite frankly comical.

I don't know where to start or what to say. I just scrolled down n saw Iran Saudis relation.
Having lived in Dubai Muscat and Doha all I can say is that none of these nations are even likely to heed to these calls.
There is no logic for such a call. The more I think of it the more I believe that nothing matters more than competence.
Pakistan repeats its mistake. Is this a business call or political call. Even political calls like this hasn't worked not GCC not OIC. Reinvent Rethink Reboot

Pakistani you have a PM with a sharp sense of business. Though this is not exactly out of the box thinking but definitely a step in the right direction. Also with most Muslim countries at war there will be greater opportunity that will arise out of devastation. An extremely sad yet that's the nature of war. One can't create new opportunities in a stagnant economy until you destroy some existing infrastructure
