READING is necessary for gaining knowledge and feeding the brain just as eating good food is required for having proper health and medicines for curing diseases.

Even though the percentage of book readers has minimised a lot during the past few decades, there are still many people who love reading books. However, they can’t do do as books have become expensive and there are few good libraries in Karachi.

Because of all this, bookworms in our society get little opportunity to read books. I am a student who loves reading books but am deprived of the opportunities to do so.

Libraries should be there with books for readers of every age. In many localities, there is not a single library. So where do poor students go for studying and researching?

I request both the federal and provincial governments and philanthropists to construct libraries in Karachi and other cities as it is essential for the economic progress of Pakistan.
