“A huge cache of arms and ammunition were also recovered during the operation,” added the police official.

The dead militants belonged to a proscribed organisation and were operating in the Mastung area, stated the police official.

“The terrorists were involved in various cases of target killings and bombings,” said the police official.

The police official elaborated further that more police reinforcements were called in to the area to assist the ongoing operation after the gunfight with the militants.
