KARACHI: Police on Monday arrested a man posing as a Rangers colonel in Zaman Town area of Karachi.

Zaman Town police registered FIR 415/2015 against the imposter Raza Malik and his partner in crime Sohail under 7-ATA (Anti-Terrorism Act), 386, 170, 171 and 34 sections of Pakistan Penal Code.

Two other suspects, Liaquat and Nazim were declared absconders in the FIR registered on complaint of one Jehanzeb Zaman.

The complainant claimed that Raza Malik who was known as ‘Colonel Ali’ was demanding Rs0.4 million to get an arrestee released from custody of the rangers.

Police have initiated a probe into the case.
