LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority continued inspecting and sealing eateries, food production units, food outlets and restaurants besides imposing fines on them for not maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.

According to a press release on Tuesday, the PFA Nishtar Town team sealed United Confectionery production unit at Kot Lakhpat Industrial Estate over unhygienic conditions, greasy floor, dirty air ductwork, poor workers hygiene and broken floor.

Data Ganj Bakhsh team sealed Mama Kebab on Temple Road owing to unhygienic conditions and storage of chatni in a dirty drum. The washing area was also dirty and the source of minced meat was also unknown.It also sealed Heera Chargha and Siri Pai due to unhygienic conditions, dirty and broken freezer and stagnant water in front of the kitchen.

PFA Ravi Town team sealed Butt Sweets and Bakers for non-compliance of hygiene standards and having expired bakery and dairy products, etc.

It also sealed DOCE Sweets and Bakers for not following food handling standards, flies on sweets and bakery products, tampering with expiry date on bakery and sweets products and dysfunctional insect killer, etc.

Gulberg Town team sealed Lahore Broast in Garhi Shahu due to dirty freezer, poor premises and personnel hygiene and flies on food items.
