PESHAWAR: Two women were killed and three others were injured over a land dispute at Swati Phattak area in the limits of Peshtakhara police station here on Wednesday.

Local police said that the deceased women were identified as Gul Bibi, wife of Pervez, and Rahida, wife of Danish, while those injured included Pervez, Danish and Ms Amna. They were shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital.

Police said that the accused had so far not been nominated in the FIR, but the family members described it a land dispute. It was learnt that several men armed with weapons entered the residence of the victims and opened indiscriminate fire on them.

Police said that statement of the injured persons had not been recorded as yet as they were in critical condition. However, they said that both the accused persons and victims were close relatives and had an old land dispute. The police said that the alleged killers would be arrested once they were nominated in the case.
