A bang

Published June 7, 2015

THE Economic Survey (2014-15) shows the actual performance of the government wherein all its claims have become meaningless.

Four of the main indicators — growth rate, agriculture, industry and services — showed a sense of complacency. And for the face-saving, Finance Minister Dar put all the blame on sit-ins, floods and political uncertainties.

There is a serious deficiency in government priorities, such as developing pretentious projects at the cost of health, education and power infrastructure. The latest example is the Rawalpindi metro-bus worth Rs44bn. This money could be used for solving health, education and power problems.
