ISLAMABAD: An ASI was suspended and served a show-cause notice after he made obnoxious gesture to a senior official of an intelligence agency, Dawn has learnt from police.

The ASI, stationed at Industrial Area Police Station, was escorting a woman prisoner to district courts F-8. His vehicle was about to collide with a Parado while negotiating a U-Turn at Faisal Avenue.

The ASI’s gesture annoyed the driver of the Parado who started chasing him, the officials said, adding the ASI after reaching at the checkpoint at F-8 Markaz, asked the policemen to check the vehicle.

At the check post, the driver of the Parado and the ASI exchanged harsh arguments, the officials said, adding later a scene was created.

The senior officers of the police were informed about the incident. The driver of the Pardo introduced himself as senior officer of an intelligence agency, they added. Senior police officers when contacted refused to comment on the issue.
