LAHORE: A City District Government Lahore livestock team on Sunday morning seized 2,250 kg dead animals meat during raids at some illegal slaughterhouses in Kot Kamboh (near Babu Sabu) and Samanabad areas.

The unhygienic meat was supposed to be supplied to various sale points in the city. According to officials, the team led by livestock deputy district officer Dr Rahat had FIRs registered against 10 people. It also disposed of the seized meat into the Ravi.

PRICES: A CDGL monitoring team while visiting various Sunday bazaars observed an increase in prices of 17 out of the total 32 fruits available in bazaars. It also witnessed a decrease in prices of six fruits. However, nine fruits were found to be having last week’s price.

The team noted price increase in 12 of the total 39 vegetables available in bazaars. Prices of 15 vegetables were found on the lower side, according to a spokesman.
