PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan on Wednesday afternoon walked through different roads of Peshawar Cantonment without official protocol and security which turned out to be a pleasant surprise for the people.

The governor, who was accompanied by his four-year-old grandson, Qasim Khan, met with people who were mostly surprised as they didn’t remember when was the last time when a constitutional head of the province had walked like this along with them without security.

Clad in a tracksuit, he came out of the Governor House without informing his security officials and went to the Mall Road. Near the historical Edwardes College, several students who were playing there met the governor who is the constitutional head of the province and administrative head of Fata. Mahtab Khan advised the students to focus on their studies along with extra-curricular activities.

The governor also passed through security checkposts and met the security personnel stationed there. On Mall Road, where offices of several media outlets are situated, journalists came out when they heard about his visit.

Answering their queries, the governor said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata were brave and had rendered valuable sacrifices in the ongoing war against terrorism. He hoped that because of the sacrifices of the army and people terrorists would be defeated and peace and tranquility would prevail in KP and Fata.
