KARACHI: Islamia Club, which is known as the hub of table tennis activities in the city, has decided to commemorate World Table Tennis Day which falls on April 6 by staging a three-day competition.

The Karachi Table Tennis Association (KTTA) secretary Arif Khan, who is also the organising secretary of the event, said the matches will commence on Saturday and culminate with the finals on Monday.

He said the event is being held with the permission of Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) and the provincial and local associations.

The events that will take place in the tournament include men’s singles, women’s singles, boys and girls under-18 singles.

The last date for submission of entries is April 3 and the draws will be taken out the same evening.

Players who are interested to compete have been asked to contact Arif Khan, Bilal Tarique or Kanty Lal.
