Multan lioness gives birth to five cubs

MULTAN: It’s a baby boom for the owner of a pet lioness in Multan.
The African lioness named Rani has given birth to five healthy cubs. Lions normally have litters of two or three cubs.
Malik Fazal Abbas, the owner, said he has had 4-year-old Rani since she was two months old. The male lion Rani mated with is also kept by Mr Abbas at his home in Multan.
Mr Abbas, who is a cotton and mango grower, says he has a licence from the wildlife department to keep lions as pets.

Keeping African lions in a private setup in a country like Pakistan and in a city like multan can't be such a good thing.

Been to his 'Dera' a few times..... He is a nice man who loves animals and knows how to look after them. I spent my childhood (lived) so close to his Dera that we could often hear the Lions roaring in the evening - loud n clear. He's been keeping these 'King of the Jungle' and many other animals for a long time now. A very good step to save some of the beautiful and precious wild life on today's man-wild earth.

WHat a lovely big cat , I love it , I wish a her great happy and healthy family with lot of happiness and joys in life , although in zoo life is like in prison , however now zoos are getting bigger in Pakistan

Its a good news but its inhumane to keep animals in confined spaces. Would you like if someone locks you up in a room or a house. Their place is in the wild, just for a bit of pleasure we lock them up, how selfish!

Very good to see this picture of beautiful cubs. However, if dera is in a residential area, and a lion gets loose, wandering around house, injuring or killing people, who would be responsible. owner of the dera or the city of Multan? Who injured persons would be suing for any injury or loss of life?
