KARACHI: A 50-year-old policeman was shot dead in City Railway Colony on Thursday evening, Mithadar police said.

They added that Mohammed Islam was walking from his home in City Railway Colony to his posting place in Keamari when gunmen on a motorcycle attacked him at the railway crossing, at a short distance from the Shaheen Complex traffic intersection. He sustained three bullet wounds in the head and chest and was taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi, where doctors declared him dead. The victim was posted in the railway police.
