CJCSC confers civil awards

RAWALPINDI: The Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Gen Rashad Mahmood, conferred on Wednesday civil awards upon eminent scientists and engineers working in various national organisations in recognition of their meritorious services.

The people who received the awards at an investiture ceremony have been working for the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, Khan Research Laboratories, National Engineering and Scientific Commission, Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission, and Strategic Plans Division, said a press release.

Five Sitrara-i-Imtiaz, 12 President’s Award for Pride of Performance and eight Tamgha-i-Imtiaz were awarded by the chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, on behalf of the President of Pakistan.

The recipients of Sitara-i-Imtiaz were Imran Iqbal, S. Shadab Fatima Kamal, Mohammad Arshad, Ihsanul Haq and Dr Sajid Raza Chaudhry.

Pride of Performance was given to Khalid Bin Sattar, Maqbool Ahmad Chaudhry, Naseer Haider, Dr Arshad Munir, Mohammad Farrukh Iqbal, Dr Mureed Hussain, Brig Mohammad Waheed Khan, Dr Qazi Mateenuddin, Dr Mohammad Usman, Dr Mohammad Anwar Mughal, Dr Fiaz Ahmad, and retired Lt Col Shafqat Ali.

The recipients of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz were Shahid Farooq, Syed Ahmed Hassan, Dr Anwaar Manzar, Mohsin Shehzad, Hafiz Mohammad Jafar, retired Col Asif Hassan, Lt Col Imran Amin Janjua and Khurram Ashfaq Qazi.
