Team formed to question model Ayyan

RAWALPINDI: The customs department on Tuesday formed a special team to question model Ayyan Ali in Adiala jail.

Ayyan was arrested at Benazir Bhutto airport on Saturday for allegedly attempting to smuggle $506,800 out of the country.

The customs investigators will also approach senior officials of the commercial bank from where the foreign currency was withdrawn either by the model or someone else.

The source said initial investigation showed that the model had been frequently travelling abroad since 2009.

The investigators were facing problems in getting the call data of Ayyan’s BlackBerry and I-phone as the phones had been blocked soon after she was detained. Sims issued from Dubai were also found blocked when she was taken into custody.
