ADELAIDE: Captain Misbah-ul-Haq has reposed full confidence in the abilities of young Umar Akmal and Sohaib Maqsood to come good in the upcoming games despite their poor show with the bat so far in the ICC World Cup.

Aware of the criticism on both middle-order players back home, Misbah said he still rates the youngsters highly and is looking forward to great performances from them in the next matches.

“Both Umar and Sohaib are fine cricketers and can deliver in a big way during the crucial matches ahead,” said Misbah. “I have a lot of confidence in their abilities and they are capable of playing blistering knocks against any team in the world.”

The skipper informed the media that Haris Sohail has fully recovered from his heal injury and is in run for a place in the team - depending on the situation and pitch conditions.
