Special education

PEOPLE with disabilities have also got a right to acquire education. However, due to lack of facilities at educational institutions they are not able to do so and face hardships.

Common facilities like specialised classrooms, library, washrooms, transport, cafeteria, etc., are not available for special students.

Many students who use wheelchairs cannot use stairs when they need to go up or down. A ramp is required for them to access their classes.

Educational institutions, universities and government should take notice of this and provide facilities like wheelchairs, accessible ramps, suitably-designed chairs and ergonomic furniture, audio-visual aids, recorders (for the visually impaired), specialised books and teaching aids.
